p-KV4.2 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Thr 602 phosphorylated KV4.2 of human, mouse, rat, equine, canine, bovine, and ovine origin, as well as Thr 603 phosphorylated KV4.2 of avian origin, by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-KV4.2 (C-6) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. KV4.2 plays a crucial role in regulating neuronal excitability and cardiac action potentials as a key component of voltage-gated potassium channels that facilitate action potential repolarization in excitable cells. These channels maintain proper electrical activity of neurons and muscle cells, and dysfunction can lead to severe neurological and cardiac disorders. KV4.2 primarily localizes to neuronal plasma membranes, forming tetrameric structures with other KV subunits for precise ion flow control. This localization enables rapid and efficient electrical signal transmission, highlighting KV4.2′s importance in both central and peripheral nervous system function. Phosphorylation of KV4.2 at specific residues, such as Thr 602 by mitogen-activated protein kinase ERK2, modulates activity and influences channel dynamics, demonstrating intricate regulatory mechanisms in neuronal signaling.
