    SEE ALSO...

nephrocystin-3 Antibody (3B1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects nephrocystin-3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-nephrocystin-3 antibody (3B1) is available as the non-conjugated format. Nephrocystin-3, encoded by the NPHP3 gene, plays a crucial role in renal tubular function and development, making nephrocystin-3 significant for understanding kidney health and disease. Nephrocystin-3 interacts with various signaling molecules, including p130Cas (BCAR1), proline-rich tyrosine kinases, calmodulin, and tensin, suggesting involvement in critical cellular signaling pathways that regulate cell adhesion and migration. Nephrocystin-3 contains distinct structural domains, including a tubulin-tyrosine ligase (TTL) domain, a coiled-coil (CC) domain, and a tetratrico peptide repeat (TPR) domain, which are essential for functional interactions and stability. Nephrocystin-3 is expressed at low levels across various tissues, including heart, placenta, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, and pancreas, while showing minimal expression in brain and lung. Mutations in the NPHP3 gene can lead to nephronophthisis type 3, a recessive disorder that manifests in adolescents with severe renal complications, including sclerosing tubulointerstitial nephropathy and renal cyst development, ultimately resulting in chronic renal failure. The nephrocystin family, including nephrocystin-3, is vital for maintaining kidney function, and understanding these interactions and mechanisms can provide insights into potential therapeutic targets for kidney diseases.
