MMP-7 Antibody (A-5) is a high quality monoclonal MMP-7 antibody (also designated MMP7 antibody) suitable for the detection of the MMP-7 protein of human origin. MMP-7 Antibody (A-5) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-MMP-7 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-MMP-7 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are a family of peptidase enzymes responsible for the degradation of extracellular matrix components, including collagen, gelatin, fibronectin, laminin and proteoglycan. Transcription of MMP genes is differentially activated by phorbol ester, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB). MMP catalysis requires both calcium and zinc. MMP-7 (also designated Pump-1, matrilysin or uterine metalloproteinase) degrades casein, fibronectin and gelatin types I, III, IV and V. MMP-7 mRNA is produced exclusively by epithelial cells in mouse and expression is restricted to specific organs, suggesting that in addition to matrix degradation and remodeling, MMP-7 may be involved in the differentiated function of these organs.

What blocking solution should I use with MMP-7 (A-5): sc-515703 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?
Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here:
