IKKβ Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects IKKβ in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IKKβ, a crucial component of the IκB kinase complex, plays a vital role in activating the transcription factor NFκB, which regulates immune responses, inflammation, and cell survival. IKKβ is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where IKKβ interacts with IκB proteins to facilitate their phosphorylation and subsequent degradation, allowing NFκB to translocate to the nucleus and initiate gene transcription. This localization ensures NFκB remains inactive until needed, preventing inappropriate activation that could lead to chronic inflammation or autoimmune diseases. The IKK complex, which includes IKKα, IKKβ, and IKKγ (NEMO), is essential for phosphorylating IκB proteins, and precise regulation of this process maintains cellular homeostasis and responds to extracellular signals. Anti-IKKβ antibody (G-8) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the NFκB signaling pathway and its implications in various diseases, including cancer and inflammatory disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271782 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
