CREM Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody specifically engineered to detect the cAMP response element modulator (CREM). CREM monoclonal antibody (A-2) is raised against the full-length polyhistidine-tagged CREM fusion protein and is effective in various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CREM is a crucial member of the ATF/CREB family of transcription factors, predominantly localized in the nucleus where CREM plays a vital role in regulating gene expression by binding to cAMP response elements in promoter and enhancer regions. The nuclear presence of CREM is essential for controlling transcriptional activity, which influences key biological processes such as spermatogenesis and cellular responses to hormonal signaling. Additionally, CREM interacts with tissue-specific partners to ensure precise regulation of target genes, highlighting the importance of cellular localization. Anti-CREM antibody (A-2) also exhibits reactivity with CREM proteins from rat origin, expanding applicability in comparative studies across species. By enabling accurate detection and localization of CREM within cells, CREM monoclonal antibody (A-2) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers exploring cellular signaling pathways, gene regulation mechanisms, and reproductive biology.

What region of CREM does this bind to; is it the full protein or a particular domain? Additionally, does it have any accidentak binding against other ATF family transcription factors?

Asked by: Shelby
Thank you for your question. sc-377496 CREM (A-2) is raised against the full length . https://www.uniprot.org/uniprotkb/P27699/entry

Do you think it will work for detecting human CREM? Thanks!

Asked by: Sheryss
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not yet been tested in human samples and so that is not a recommended species at this time. We are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using CREM (A-2): sc-377496?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
