    SEE ALSO...

ZWINT Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ZWINT of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ZWINT Antibody (G-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZWINT, also known as KNTC2AP or HZwint-1, is a 277 amino acid protein crucial for proper kinetochore function, which is essential for accurate chromosome segregation during cell division. ZWINT is localized to the cytoplasm during interphase and translocates to kinetochores from late prophase to anaphase, where ZWINT plays a pivotal role in regulating the interaction between ZW10 (Zeste White 10) and kinetochores. ZWINT is a key component of a kinetochore complex that includes proteins such as MIS12 (MIND kinetochore complex component) and PMF-1 (polyamine-modulated factor 1), which collectively ensure the integrity of kinetochore formation and the spindle checkpoint mechanism. Disruptions in the gene encoding ZWINT have been linked to Roberts syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by growth retardation due to premature chromosome separation, highlighting ZWINT′s importance in maintaining genomic stability.
