SEE ALSO...

ZDHHC8 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ZDHHC8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ZDHHC8 antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZDHHC8, also known as KIAA1292, ZDHHCL1, or zinc finger protein 378, is a 765 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein primarily localized to cytoplasmic vesicle membranes. Such localization enables ZDHHC8 to function effectively as a putative palmitoyltransferase, catalyzing palmitoyl group transfer from palmitoyl-CoA to specific cysteine residues on target proteins, a process regulating protein interactions and membrane localization. ZDHHC8′s ability to modify proteins through palmitoylation plays a crucial role in glutamatergic transmission by influencing synaptic signaling and plasticity. Additionally, defects in ZDHHC8 have been linked to increased schizophrenia susceptibility, highlighting ZDHHC8′s potential role in neurodevelopmental disorders.
