ZDHHC2 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ZDHHC2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ZDHHC2 (C-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZDHHC2 protein, also known as zinc finger, DHHC-type containing 2, is a 367 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein characterized by the presence of a DHHC-type zinc finger domain. ZDHHC2 functions as a palmitoyltransferase, utilizing palmitoyl-CoA to catalyze the palmitoylation of target proteins such as GAP-43 and PSD-95, which is essential for their proper localization and function within the cell. The palmitoylation process regulates protein interactions and membrane dynamics, thereby influencing various cellular signaling pathways. Defects in ZDHHC2 have been implicated in colorectal cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma, highlighting ZDHHC2′s potential role in tumorigenesis. ZDHHC2 gene is located on chromosome 8, a region associated with numerous diseases and malignancies, further underscoring ZDHHC2′s importance in health and disease.
