SEE ALSO...

YT521-B Antibody (8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects YT521-B protein of human, rat, mouse, and canine origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). YT521-B (8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). YT521-B protein, also known as YTH domain-containing protein 1, is a 727 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation and alternative splicing. YT521-B protein is localized to unique subnuclear structures known as YT bodies and is the human homolog of the mouse gene Ythdc1. YT521-B protein is ubiquitously expressed across tissues and is involved in a signal transduction pathway that influences splice site selection, which is vital for proper gene expression and protein diversity generation. YT521-B protein shuttles between the nucleus and cytosol, where phosphorylation occurs by kinases such as c-Src and Fyn. Tyrosine phosphorylation by c-Abl leads to YT521-B protein dispersion from YT bodies into the nucleoplasm and promotes sequestration in an insoluble nuclear form, inhibiting alternative splice site modulation. This regulatory mechanism is particularly important for Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy (EDMD), where YT521-B protein is considered a candidate for involvement in the pathogenesis of this condition affecting voluntary muscles. YT521-B protein exists as two isoforms due to alternative splicing events, further highlighting its complexity and significance in cellular processes.

Are there any issues with using sc-136428: YT521-B (8) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-136428 conjugates.
