WIPI-1 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects WIPI-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). WIPI-1 (F-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. WIPI-1, also known as WD repeat domain, phosphoinositide interacting-1, ATG18, or WIPI49, is a 446 amino acid protein primarily localized to cytoplasmic vesicles, endosomes, clathrin-coated vesicles, and the trans-Golgi network. WIPI-1′s ubiquitous expression, particularly in heart, testis, placenta, pancreas, and skeletal muscle, highlights WIPI-1′s critical role in cellular processes such as autophagy and protein trafficking within recycling pathways. Notably, WIPI-1 interacts with androgen and estrogen receptors, potentially modulating their functions, which underscores WIPI-1′s importance in hormone signaling. WIPI-1 features a unique 7-bladed propeller structure formed by three WD repeats, which is essential for WIPI-1′s interactions with other proteins. Additionally, WIPI-1 is expressed in two isoforms, alpha and beta, and WIPI-1′s expression is upregulated in various tumors, suggesting a significant role in carcinogenesis and making WIPI-1 a valuable target for cancer research.
