WIP Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects WIP in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). WIP, or WAS-interacting protein, plays a crucial role in the regulation of actin dynamics and is essential for proper immune cell function. WIP contains multiple domains that facilitate actin-binding and interaction with other signaling proteins, which are vital for T cell and B cell activation. WIP is predominantly located in the cytoplasm, where WIP associates with the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein (WASP) to form a complex necessary for the activation of NF-AT/AP-1 transcription factors, critical for T cell responses. Disruption of this complex can lead to immunodeficiency, as seen in Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, highlighting WIP′s importance in maintaining immune system integrity. The gene encoding human WIP is located on chromosome 2p23.3-q24.3, and WIP expression is tightly regulated, with overexpression linked to increased F-actin content and altered cellular morphology in B cells. Anti-WIP antibody (A-7) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms underlying immune responses and the pathogenesis of immunodeficiencies.
