SEE ALSO...

WHIP Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects WHIP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). WHIP (G-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. WHIP protein, also known as WRNIP1 (Werner helicase-interacting protein 1), plays a crucial role in DNA synthesis regulation and is localized in the nucleus, where WRNIP1 is involved in the modulation of initiation events during DNA polymerase-mediated DNA synthesis. This localization is significant as WRNIP1 interacts with DNA replication machinery and responds to DNA damage or stalled replication forks through ATPase activity. WHIP is found in granular structures within the nucleus and interacts with the N-terminal domain of WRN, the protein product of the gene associated with Werner′s syndrome, a disorder characterized by premature aging and increased cancer risk. The close association between WHIP and WRN suggests WHIP may contribute to the aging process and the pathogenesis of Werner′s syndrome. Additionally, WHIP is produced in four isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may further diversify functional roles in cellular processes.
