WHIP Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects WHIP (Werner helicase-interacting protein 1) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). WHIP plays a crucial role in the regulation of DNA synthesis, acting as a modulator for the initiation of DNA polymerase-mediated synthesis and utilizing ATPase activity to identify DNA damage or stalled replication forks. WHIP is predominantly localized in the nucleus, where WHIP forms granular structures and interacts with the N-terminal domain of WRN, the protein encoded by the gene associated with Werner′s syndrome. The interaction between WHIP and WRN suggests a potential link to the aging process and the pathogenesis of Werner′s syndrome, a condition characterized by premature aging and increased cancer risk. WHIP is produced in four isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in cellular processes. Anti-WHIP antibody (A-7) is an essential tool for researchers studying molecular pathways involved in DNA repair and the implications of these processes in aging and cancer biology.
