WDR77 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects WDR77 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-WDR77 antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. WDR77, also known as MEP50, is a 342 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of five WD-repeats, which are structural motifs that typically form a tertiary propeller configuration. These WD-repeats are crucial for WDR77′s function, as they facilitate a role in the assembly of U small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (U snRNPs), which are essential for pre-mRNA splicing. The proper assembly and function of U snRNPs are vital for gene expression regulation and cellular homeostasis. Additionally, WDR77 is a key component of a PRMT5-containing methyltransferase complex that catalyzes the dimethylation of arginine residues in spliceosomal Sm proteins, thereby targeting them to the survival of motor neurons (SMN) complex for incorporation into ribonucleoprotein core particles. This methylation process is not only critical for RNA processing but also suggests WDR77 may play a significant role in the development of testicular tumors, indicating potential involvement in carcinogenesis.
