VZV gE Antibody (9C8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VZV gE protein of Varicella Zoster Virus origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-VZV gE antibody (9C8) is available as a non-conjugated isotype antibody. VZV gE protein plays a crucial role in the virus′s lifecycle, particularly in the process of viral entry and egress from host cells. VZV gE serves as a major component of the virion envelope and is essential for the formation of the glycoprotein E and glycoprotein I complex, which is vital for viral infection of new cells. The interaction between gE and gI not only facilitates virus envelopment within the trans-Golgi network but also aids in efficient membrane fusion necessary for viral replication. Understanding VZV gE function is important for developing therapeutic strategies against Varicella Zoster Virus, as VZV gE contributes to the pathogenesis of both chickenpox and shingles. Using VZV gE monoclonal antibody (9C8) in research can provide insights into VZV infection mechanisms and potential targeted interventions.

Hi,I use this product(VZV gE 9C8,sc-56995) and Goat anti-mouse IgG (H+L)-HRP conjugate (Bio-rad,cat:1706515)to do a Western-blot experiment, it doesn’t work. It used to work. I just don’t know why. If you know the reason, please  contact me.Thanks a lot!
