SEE ALSO...

VPS4 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VPS4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-VPS4 antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VPS4 protein plays a crucial role in the endosomal sorting pathway, particularly in the formation of multivesicular bodies, which are essential for the degradation of membrane proteins and the regulation of cellular signaling. VPS4 is part of the class E vacuolar protein sorting machinery, which is vital for proper protein trafficking within cells. In humans, VPS4 exists in two forms, VPS4A and VPS4B, which can form heteromeric complexes, enhancing functional capacity in intracellular transport. Notably, VPS4 interacts with CHMP1 protein, which is implicated in multivesicular body formation, and is essential for the budding process of retroviruses like HIV-1, highlighting importance in viral pathogenesis. VPS4 activity inhibition can disrupt vacuolar protein sorting and impede virus budding, making VPS4 a significant target for therapeutic intervention in viral infections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VPS4A recognizing antibody (not VPS4B)I used this antibody for several years and I am pretty sure that it recognizes (WB) VPS4A only (verified by KO/KD). In my hands, this antibody does not bind to VPS4B and is not specific in IF.
