VPS16 Antibody (2F10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the VPS16 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-VPS16 antibody (2F10) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. VPS16, or vacuolar protein sorting 16, is a crucial component of the Class C VPS protein complex, which includes VPS11, VPS18, and VPS33, and is essential for the proper trafficking of endocytic and biosynthetic proteins to the vacuole. This 839 amino acid protein is predominantly located on the cytoplasmic side of membranes and is ubiquitously expressed across various tissues. VPS16′s role in membrane docking and fusion reactions of late endosomes and lysosomes is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis, as VPS16 facilitates vesicle-mediated protein trafficking to lysosomal compartments. Disruptions in VPS16 function due to genetic mutations can lead to impaired lysosomal trafficking, contributing to diseases such as Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome. VPS16 (2F10) antibody′s ability to effectively detect VPS16 makes this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying lysosomal function and related pathologies.
