VPAC2 Antibody (5B3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VPAC2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VPAC2 (5B3) antibody is available as a non-conjugated format. VPAC2 protein is a member of the vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) receptor family, which plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including neuronal differentiation and immune response modulation. Located predominantly in the brain and T cells, VPAC2 interacts with both VIP and PACAP, activating adenylyl cyclase and subsequently increasing cyclic AMP levels, which is vital for signaling pathways that influence cell growth and function. VPAC2 receptor is part of a larger superfamily of G-protein coupled receptors, which also includes VPAC1 and PACAP receptor, each exhibiting unique expression patterns and signaling capabilities. VPAC2′s ability to mediate important cellular responses underscores its significance in neurobiology and immunology, making anti-VPAC2 antibody (5B3) an essential tool for researchers studying these pathways.

Asked by: Irene_st
Thank you for your question. The molecular weight of 65 kDa that is stated on the product's datasheet relies on data from these publications: PMID 11072126 (65 kDa), PMID 10617284 (VPAC1=58 kDa, VPAC2=68 kDa). However, there is also data indicating a lower molecular weight, which is in line with the image shown on the product page and datasheet: https://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P41587. For further information please do not hesitate to contact our technical service.
