SEE ALSO...

Vitronectin 65/75 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Vitronectin 65/75 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Vitronectin 65/75 (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Vitronectin plays a crucial role in the extracellular matrix, where Vitronectin is involved in cell adhesion, migration, and wound healing processes. Vitronectin is characterized by an RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) sequence, which is vital for binding to integrins on cell surfaces, facilitating cell attachment and spreading. This interaction is particularly important in tissue repair, as increased levels of Vitronectin have been observed in migrating cells during wound healing. Vitronectin′s ability to bind to plasminogen activators and integrins underscores Vitronectin′s significance in regulating cell motility and extracellular matrix dynamics. Post-translational modifications of Vitronectin, such as glycosylation, can influence interactions with other proteins, thereby impacting cellular responses during injury and repair.

I am using Vitronectin 65/75 (D-8): sc-74484 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
