SEE ALSO...

Villin Antibody (1D2C3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Villin protein of mouse, rat, human, and avian origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Villin antibody (1D2C3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Villin plays a crucial role in organizing actin cytoskeleton, particularly in brush border of absorptive epithelial cells, where Villin contributes to maintaining cell shape and surface area for absorption. Villin activity is regulated by calcium ions, which influence binding and severing of actin filaments, facilitating dynamic changes in cytoskeleton essential for cell motility and morphology. Villin interaction with other actin-binding proteins, such as Caldesmon, Filamin 1, and Nebulin, highlights Villin importance in cytoskeletal regulation, making Villin a vital component in both muscular and non-muscular tissues. Differential expression and regulation of Villin underscore roles in various cellular functions, emphasizing significance in maintaining cellular integrity and function across different species.

Has your villin antibody (Villin Antibody (1D2C3): sc-58897) been tested against fish tissues (zebrafish)?

Asked by: TomFinger
Thank you for your question. We only recommend the antibody for mouse, rat, human and avian. There is a 64%homology in zebra fish and we only recommend a species if the homology is 95% or higher .

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of porcine origin. Do you know if this mouse monoclonal antibody will work?

Asked by: jerojero
Please contact our Technical Service Department and we would be happy to perform sequence analysis and review our data to answer any questions you may have about additional species reactivity.
