VGF Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VGF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-VGF antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VGF, a neuropeptide, is crucial for neuronal differentiation and survival, particularly in the peripheral and central nervous systems. VGF is synthesized and secreted by neurons and is notably upregulated by nerve growth factor (NGF) in the PC12 cell line. VGF is predominantly expressed in the adult hypothalamus, where VGF plays a vital role in regulating energy expenditure and body weight.
