vezatin Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects vezatin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). vezatin Antibody (B-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. vezatin is a crucial single transmembrane domain-containing adhesion protein that plays a significant role in maintaining adherens junction integrity, essential for cell-cell adhesion and tissue architecture. These junctions are rich in microfilaments and intermediate filaments, facilitating communication between cells and contributing to tissue organization and morphogenesis. vezatin interacts with actin filamentous networks and anchors myosin VIIA to cadherin complexes, establishing a vital link between adherens junctions and actin cytoskeleton. This interaction enhances cell-cell adhesion and modulates cadherin-based signaling pathways. In the inner ear, vezatin concentrates in fibrillar links connecting adjacent stereocilia bases in sensory hair cells, playing a critical role in proper stereocilia positioning. Disruption of vezatin-myosin VIIA complex at adherens junctions and stereocilia base can lead to stereocilia disorganization, as observed in Myo7a-/- animal models. vezatin recruitment to adherens junctions associates with alpha-catenin′s C-terminal region, highlighting vezatin′s importance in cellular adhesion dynamics.
