VEGFR1 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VEGFR1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VEGFR1 (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VEGFR1, also known as Flt-1, plays a crucial role in angiogenesis by serving as a high-affinity receptor for vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs), which are essential for the formation of new blood vessels. This function is particularly important in both normal physiological processes, such as wound healing and tissue repair, and in pathological conditions, including cancer, where tumor growth is often dependent on the development of a robust blood supply. VEGFR1′s ability to bind VEGF not only influences endothelial cell proliferation and migration but also modulates the activity of other receptors in the VEGF family, thereby impacting vascular permeability and the overall angiogenic response. Understanding VEGFR1′s role in these processes can provide insights into therapeutic strategies aimed at inhibiting angiogenesis in diseases characterized by excessive blood vessel formation.

Can sc-271789 also detect soluble FLT-1 and do you have links to western blot pictures where it has been used. Thanks

Thank you for your question. According to UniProt, soluble Flt-1 (isoforms 2, 3 and 4) are missing C-terminal portions of this protein. This monoclonal antibody recognizes an epitope that is N-terminal and present in these isoforms, so this antibody should be able to recognize soluble Flt-1. However, we have not specifically tested this antibody for detection of the soluble isoforms, and we can not provide such data on our website at this time. You may find some of the product citations using this antibody helpful to see if other researchers have published this type of data with this antibody.

Can Flt-1 (D-2): sc-271789 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Flt-1 (D-2): sc-271789 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from unfortunately does not works in IHCParaffin embedded human jejunal sections (n=6; 5 µm) were rehydrated, antigen retrieval was performed heating sections 25 minutes at 90 °C in a water bath in the presence of 10 mmol / l sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0. Sections were treated with an endogenous peroxidase blocking kit. Immunostaining was performed using a commercial kit following the manufacturer's instructions. Ab Dilution: 0.02 µg/ µl In the jejunum (full thickness) of control samples, the antibody does not work. No signal found in any gastrointestinal layer of the n=6 tested samples. Probably a different antigen retrieval method should be used to expose the epitope.
