VEGF-D Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VEGF-D protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VEGF-D monoclonal antibody (C-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VEGF-D protein, also known as FIGF, plays a crucial role in angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing ones. This process is vital not only for normal physiological functions such as wound healing and tissue repair but also in pathological conditions like cancer, where tumor growth and metastasis are facilitated by the development of a robust blood supply. The central region of VEGF-D contains eight cysteine residues that are essential for homodimerization, a structural feature that is critical for biological activity. Additionally, VEGF-D is induced by c-Fos, a transcription factor implicated in the progression of early-stage tumors to malignant forms. Overexpression of VEGF-D has been shown to induce significant morphological changes in fibroblasts, further highlighting potential role in tumor progression and importance in cancer research and therapeutic strategies.

Can I use this antibody for detection of VEGFD of mouse cell lines ?

Asked by: kidarime
Thank you for your question. This antibody is only recommended for human samples, it has not been tested for mouse cells so we are unable to warranty it for that use. Please contact Technical Service by phone, (800)-457-3801 option 2, email <scbt@scbt.com>, or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com if you have any further questions or if you would like to try a sample of this antibody.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-373866 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
