SEE ALSO...

VEGF Antibody (VG-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) from mouse, rat, human, and canine samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-VEGF antibody (VG-1) is available in non-conjugated form and conjugated to agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® dyes. VEGF plays a crucial role in angiogenesis, forming new blood vessels to supply nutrients and oxygen to tissues during embryonic development and injury response. VEGF dysregulation contributes to various pathological conditions, including cancer, where VEGF promotes tumor growth and metastasis by enhancing blood supply to tumor microenvironments. VEGF exists in several isoforms, including VEGF121, VEGF165, and VEGF189, arising from alternative splicing with distinct biological activities and receptor binding affinities. VEGF165 represents the most abundant isoform, interacting with Flt-1 and KDR receptors to mediate endothelial cell proliferation and migration. VEGF′s role in stimulating angiogenesis makes VEGF a critical target for therapeutic interventions in cancer and diseases characterized by abnormal blood vessel growth.
