VE-cadherin Antibody (BV9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that targets VE-cadherin, also known as CDH5 or Cadherin-5, a critical calcium-dependent adhesion molecule located at the intercellular junctions of endothelial cells. Anti-VE-cadherin antibody (BV9) is raised against a recombinant extracellular domain of human VE-cadherin, enabling the detection of VE-cadherin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). VE-cadherin plays a role in maintaining vascular integrity by mediating cell-cell adhesion, which is essential for the cohesion and organization of endothelial layers. VE-cadherin′s presence at intercellular junctions ensures the stability of blood vessels and regulates vascular permeability, making it vital for processes like angiogenesis and vascular remodeling. The extracellular domain of VE-cadherin contains multiple homologous repeats that facilitate specific binding between endothelial cells, while the intracellular domain interacts with proteins like β-catenin to influence intracellular signaling pathways and cadherin function. VE-cadherin monoclonal antibody (BV9) is available in both non-conjugated form and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing researchers with flexibility for diverse experimental setups. Anti-VE-cadherin antibody (BV9) is recommended for researchers studying vascular biology, cancer metastasis, and inflammatory responses.

Does this antibody cross react with any of the other cadherins?

Thank you for your question. This monoclonal antibody is specific for VE-cadherin. We are not aware of cross-reactivity with any other cadherins.

Does this antibody work for IHC in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues?

Thank you for your question. This antibody has not been tested for IHC in paraffin embedded tissue sections., and so it is not a recommended application at this time. We do warranty it for fresh frozen tissue sections.
