VASP Antibody (D-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects VASP in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VASP, or vaso-dilator-stimulated phosphoprotein, plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular architecture by interacting with actin filaments, which is essential for various cellular processes including cell migration, adhesion, and shape maintenance. VASP is primarily localized to focal adhesions and microfilaments, where VASP contributes to the dynamic reorganization of the cytoskeleton in response to extracellular signals. VASP undergoes post-translational modifications, particularly phosphorylation at Serine residue 157, which regulates VASP activity and localization. This phosphorylation is mediated by cAMP and cGMP-dependent kinases, highlighting VASP′s involvement in signaling pathways that govern cytoskeletal dynamics. Given VASP′s high expression in human platelets and functional similarities to WASP, VASP is not only vital for cytoskeletal organization but also plays a significant role in processes related to thrombosis and immune responses, making anti-VASP antibody (D-11) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these critical biological functions.
