    SEE ALSO...

VapE Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects virulence associated protein VapE of Rhodococcus equi origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VapE (G-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VapE, consisting of 206 amino acids, is encoded by the virulence plasmid pREAT701 (p33701) of R. equi, a gram-positive bacterium known to cause pyogranulomatous pneumonia in foals and pose significant risks to immunocompromised humans. Understanding VapE′s structure is crucial, as VapE plays a vital role in the bacterium′s ability to evade the host immune response, thereby contributing to the severity of infections. VapE′s unique structural features allow interaction with host cell mechanisms, facilitating the establishment of infection and making VapE a key target for therapeutic interventions. R. equi infections are particularly concerning, as these infections are the leading cause of foal mortality within the first six months of life, highlighting the importance of studying proteins like VapE to develop effective treatments and preventive measures.
