SEE ALSO...

VAP-A Antibody (4C12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VAP-A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-VAP-A antibody (4C12) is available as the non-conjugated format. VAMP-associated protein A (VAP-A) is a crucial SNARE regulator that plays a significant role in membrane fusion and intracellular protein transport, particularly during late embryogenesis and early neonatal development in the intestine. VAP-A protein is predominantly located in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, where VAP-A facilitates the trafficking of vesicles, ensuring proper cellular function and communication. VAP-A protein interacts with a variety of SNAREs and fusion-related proteins, including Syntaxin 1A, rBet1, rSec22, αSNAP, and NSF, indicating VAP-A′s essential role in SNARE-mediated vesicle traffic. VAP-A′s ability to form stable complexes with proteins such as p48 further underscores VAP-A′s importance in modulating cellular processes, including the differentiation of intestinal smooth muscle cells. Using VAP-A monoclonal antibody (4C12) in research can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of vesicle transport and membrane dynamics in various biological contexts.

Hi, does this antibody recognizes mouse VAP-A in immunofluorescence?

Asked by: MPetkovic
Thank you for your question. This antibody is currently recommended for detection of mouse VAP-A for immunofluorescent staining in fresh or frozen tissues or cells fixed in methanol or acetone. Reactivity with mouse is predicted based on sequence identity with the antigen. The antibody has been tested in IF on methanol fixed HeLa cells.
