V-ATPase α1 Antibody (4F5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the V-ATPase alpha 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-V-ATPase alpha 1 antibody (4F5) is available as the non-conjugated format. The vacuolar-type H+-ATPase (V-ATPase) plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular homeostasis by acidifying various intracellular organelles, which is essential for processes such as protein degradation, nutrient storage, and ion transport. The V-ATPase operates through a complex structure consisting of a peripheral V1 domain responsible for ATP hydrolysis and an integral V0 domain that facilitates proton translocation. The V1 domain is composed of nine subunits (A–H), while the V0 domain consists of five subunits (a, d, c, c′, and c"). V-ATPase α1, also known as HO68, VA68, VPP2, Vma1, or ATP6V1A1, serves as the A subunit of the V1 domain and is a 617 amino acid protein that is ubiquitously expressed across various tissues. V-ATPase α1 proper functioning is vital for the enzyme′s rotary mechanism, which couples ATP hydrolysis to proton translocation, thereby influencing numerous physiological processes.
