SEE ALSO...

UPIIIa Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects UPIIIa of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UPIIIa (C-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UPIIIa plays a crucial role in forming the asymmetric unit membrane (AUM), which is essential for maintaining urothelium integrity. AUM is characterized by unique plaques covering the apical surface of the bladder′s urothelium, providing structural support and preventing rupture during bladder distention. These plaques are composed of uroplakins, including UPIa, UPIb, UPII, and UPIII, which are highly conserved across species such as humans, mice, rats, rabbits, dogs, pigs, and sheep. The interaction between UPIa and UPIb with UPII and UPIII is vital for normal urothelial plaque formation, and this process is regulated by proteolytic processing of uroplakin proteins. Uroplakins are not only markers of urothelial differentiation but are also expressed in many transitional cell carcinomas of the bladder, making anti-UPIIIa antibody (C-6) valuable for detecting bladder cancer metastasis and monitoring therapeutic responses.

Are there any issues with using sc-166808: UPIIIa (C-6) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-166808 conjugates.
