UFSP2 Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UFSP2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UFSP2 (G-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UFSP2, also known as Ufm1-specific protease 2, is a 469 amino acid thiol protease that plays a crucial role in the UFM1 conjugation pathway by specifically cleaving the UFM1 precursor, which is essential for exposing its conserved C-terminal glycine. This step is vital for the subsequent conjugation of UFM1 to target proteins, a process that regulates various cellular functions, including stress responses and protein homeostasis. UFSP2 can release UFM1 from UFM1-conjugated proteins, thereby modulating UFM1 levels in the cell and influencing the dynamics of protein modification. UFSP2 is encoded on human chromosome 4, a region associated with several genetic disorders, highlighting UFSP2′s importance in maintaining cellular health and potential implications in disease mechanisms.
