UFD2 Antibody (RQ-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects UFD2 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UFD2, also known as ubiquitin conjugation factor E4 (UBE4B), plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system by facilitating the assembly of polyubiquitin chains, which are essential for targeting proteins for degradation. This process is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis, regulating protein turnover, and responding to cellular stress. Notably, UFD2 is proteolytically cleaved during apoptosis, with caspase-6 and granzyme B being the most efficient in cleaving at Asp 123, which highlights its involvement in programmed cell death. The highest expression levels of UFD2 are found in the ovary, testis, heart, and skeletal muscle, indicating its importance in reproductive and muscular functions. Anti-UFD2 antibody (RQ-5) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the dynamics of protein degradation and the implications of UFD2 in various physiological and pathological processes.
