SEE ALSO...

UDP-GlcDH Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects UDP-GlcDH of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UDP-GlcDH (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UDP-GlcDH, also known as UDP-glucose 6-dehydrogenase, UGDH, or UDPGDH, plays a vital role in converting UDP-glucose to UDP-glucuronic acid, a key precursor in glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis such as hyaluronan, heparan sulfate, and chondroitin sulfate. These glycosaminoglycans are essential components of the extracellular matrix, contributing significantly to processes such as signal transduction, cell migration, and cancer progression. UDP-glucuronic acid is crucial for liver detoxification and excretion of harmful compounds. UDP-GlcDH shows ubiquitous expression, with highest abundance in liver, and forms a homohexamer structure that is highly conserved across species, showing 97% sequence identity among mammals. Research has shown that UDP-GlcDH expression increases with transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) and decreases under hypoxic conditions, highlighting a regulatory role in cellular responses to environmental changes.

Can UDP-GlcDH (B-4): sc-137058 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, UDP-GlcDH (B-4): sc-137058 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean and very good sensitivityAntibody was tested at a dilution of 1:1000 on cell extracts of HEK293 and HepG2 as well as on human kidney lysates. Detected with high sensitivity the protein at the expected MW in all 3 extracts, will most likely use at 1:5000 next time. Much more sensitive than an anti-UGDH purchased from another source. Very satisfied.
