UCH-L3 Antibody (ZE-17) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects UCH-L3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-UCH-L3 antibody (ZE-17) is available as a non-conjugated format. UCH-L3, also known as ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase L3, plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is essential for protein degradation and regulation within cells. UCH-L3 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and nucleus, where UCH-L3 is involved in hydrolyzing ubiquitin from protein substrates, thereby recycling ubiquitin for further use in cellular processes. UCH-L3′s ability to maintain ubiquitin homeostasis is vital for various cellular functions, including cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, and response to oxidative stress. Dysregulation of UCH-L3 has been implicated in several neurodegenerative diseases, making UCH-L3 a significant target for research in understanding molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions. The gene encoding UCH-L3 is located on human chromosome 4p14, and UCH-L3 consists of 230 amino acids, exhibiting a high degree of conservation across species, which underscores UCH-L3′s importance in cellular function.
