UBPY Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects UBPY protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UBPY (E-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UBPY, also known as USP8 (ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 8) or KIAA0055, is a critical protein consisting of 1,118 amino acids that plays a vital role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is essential for regulating protein degradation and turnover within cells. UBPY contains a rhodanese domain and operates within a ternary complex with OTUB1 and GRAIL, facilitating the removal of ubiquitin from ubiquitin-conjugated proteins. This function is crucial for maintaining cellular homeostasis, as UBPY influences various processes such as signal transduction, transcriptional activation, and cell cycle progression. The gene encoding UBPY is located on human chromosome 15, which is rich in genes and accounts for nearly 3% of the human genome. By modulating the ubiquitination status of target proteins, anti-UBPY antibody (E-1) serves as a valuable tool for researchers investigating the intricate mechanisms of cellular regulation and ubiquitin signaling in health and disease.
