UBAP1 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UBAP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UBAP1 Antibody (D-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UBAP1, also known as Ubiquitin-associated protein 1 or NAG20, plays a crucial role in cellular stress response by interacting with ubiquitin, a highly conserved protein that targets damaged or misfolded proteins for degradation via the 26S proteasome. This process maintains cellular homeostasis and prevents accumulation of potentially harmful proteins, which can lead to various diseases, including cancer. UBAP1 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 9, a region associated with loss of heterozygosity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma, suggesting a potential role as a tumor suppressor. UBAP1 consists of 502 amino acids and exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, further highlighting complexity and importance in cellular regulation.
