U2AF65 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects U2AF65 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). U2AF65 is a critical component of the U2 auxiliary factor (U2AF) complex, which plays a vital role in pre-mRNA splicing by recognizing the branch point sequence and recruiting U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) to the spliceosome. U2AF65 is predominantly located in the nucleus, where U2AF65 facilitates spliceosome assembly, a complex necessary for intron removal from pre-mRNA. Proper localization of U2AF65 ensures spliceosome components are correctly positioned to execute splicing reactions. Disruption of U2AF65 function or localization can lead to aberrant splicing, implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. U2AF65 interacts with other spliceosomal proteins, including U2AF35, forming a heterodimer crucial for splicing. U2AF complex′s ability to recognize specific RNA sequences highlights U2AF65′s importance in gene expression regulation and cellular homeostasis maintenance.
