TRP2 Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TRP2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TRP2 antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRP2, also known as dopachrome tautomerase, plays a crucial role in the melanin biosynthesis pathway, specifically in the conversion of dopachrome to 5,6-dihydroxyindole, which is a key step in the production of eumelanin, the dark pigment in hair, skin, and eyes. Proper functioning of TRP2 is essential for normal pigmentation, and mutations or deficiencies in TRP2 can lead to pigmentation disorders such as oculocutaneous albinism. Additionally, TRP2 is localized in the melanosomes of melanocytes, where TRP2 works in concert with other tyrosinase-related proteins, including tyrosinase and TRP1, to form a multi-enzyme complex that enhances the efficiency of melanin production. Structural integrity and enzymatic activity of TRP2 are vital for maintaining the balance of melanin synthesis, which not only affects pigmentation but also plays a protective role against UV radiation.
