SEE ALSO...

Tropomyosin α Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Tropomyosin alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Tropomyosin α antibody (F-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tropomyosin alpha protein, encoded by the TPM1 gene located on human chromosome 15q22.1, plays a crucial role in muscle contraction and cellular structure by binding to actin filaments, thereby stabilizing their structure and modulating the interaction between actin and myosin. This interaction is vital for muscle contraction and cellular motility, making Tropomyosin a key player in both cardiac and skeletal muscle function. Tropomyosin α undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in several isoforms expressed in different tissues, including skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, and fibroblasts, which allows for specialized functions in various cell types. Tropomyosin alpha′s ability to interact with other proteins, such as troponin I and caldesmon, further emphasizes its importance in regulating muscle contraction and maintaining cellular integrity.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376541 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
