TRIM8 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TRIM8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRIM8 Antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRIM8, also known as GERP (glioblastoma-expressed RING finger protein) or RNF27 (RING finger protein 27), is a 551 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, facilitating the proteasomal degradation of SOCS-1, a key regulator of cytokine signaling. This function is particularly important in the context of immune response and inflammation, as SOCS-1 negatively regulates signaling pathways that could otherwise lead to excessive immune activation. TRIM8 is widely expressed in various tissues, including lung, heart, brain, and skeletal muscle, and is localized to nuclear bodies, where TRIM8 interacts with other proteins to modulate cellular processes. The gene encoding TRIM8 is located on human chromosome 10q24.32, highlighting TRIM8′s significance in both normal physiology and potential disease states, including cancer.
