SEE ALSO...

TRIM36 Antibody (SS-03) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TRIM36 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRIM36 (SS-03) antibody is available as non-conjugated anti-TRIM36 antibody. TRIM36, also known as RNF98 (RING finger protein 98), HAPRIN (haploid germ cell-specific RBCC protein), or RBCC728, is a 728 amino acid protein that belongs to the TRIM/RBCC (Ring finger, B box, coiled-coil) family. TRIM36 is predominantly expressed in prostate, testis, and brain, with weaker expression observed in heart, kidney, and lung. TRIM36 contains two B box-type zinc fingers, a SPRY domain, a coiled-coil domain, a fibronectin type-III domain, and a RING-type zinc finger, which is crucial for mediating protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions due to zinc-chelating activity. TRIM36 localizes to cytoplasm and acrosomal region of germ cells and mature sperm, indicating a significant role in acrosome reaction and fertilization processes. TRIM36 has been found to be overexpressed in prostate cancer, suggesting potential involvement in prostate tumorigenesis, making TRIM36 a valuable target for research in cancer biology and reproductive health.

Can sc-100881: TRIM36 (SS-03) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100881: TRIM36 (SS-03) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
