TRIM23 Antibody (8H9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects TRIM23 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRIM23, also known as Tripartite motif-containing protein 23, is a 574 amino acid intracytoplasmic membrane protein that plays a crucial role in intracellular transport processes. TRIM23 is characterized by a conserved TRIM domain, which includes a coiled-coil region, a B-box type zinc finger, and a RING finger, all of which are essential for vesicle formation and trafficking. TRIM23 is primarily located in the Golgi apparatus and lysosomal structures, where TRIM23 facilitates the movement of vesicles between cellular compartments, thereby contributing to the maintenance of cellular homeostasis and signaling pathways. Notably, TRIM23 interacts with cytohesin-1, a protein that enhances TRIM23′s activity, further underscoring TRIM23′s importance in cellular transport mechanisms. Additionally, TRIM23 exists in three isoforms—alpha, beta, and gamma—resulting from alternative splicing, which may allow for functional diversity in roles within the cell.
