SEE ALSO...

Triiodothyronine Antibody (ME-124) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Triiodothyronine in non-species reactive applications such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Triiodothyronine antibody (ME-124) is available as a non-conjugated format. Triiodothyronine (T3) is a crucial thyroid hormone composed of a tyrosine backbone with three iodine atoms, playing a vital role in regulating numerous physiological processes throughout the body. T3 is particularly important for maintaining metabolic homeostasis, influencing body temperature, growth, and heart rate. T3 exerts effects by easily penetrating cell membranes and binding to nuclear receptors, which subsequently modulate gene expression to enhance basal metabolic rate and increase sensitivity to catecholamines. T3 is involved in regulating protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism, making T3 essential for energy balance and overall metabolic health. T3 also plays a significant role in cell development and differentiation, underscoring T3′s importance in growth and development. An imbalance in T3 levels, such as in hyperthyroidism, can lead to serious health issues, highlighting the necessity of precise regulation of this hormone in the body.
