Trichohyalin Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Trichohyalin of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Trichohyalin antibody (E-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Trichohyalin is a crucial structural protein predominantly found in the medulla and inner root sheath of hair follicles, where Trichohyalin plays a vital role in the formation and organization of the cornified cell envelope. Trichohyalin is characterized by a nine-domain structure, which includes two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs essential for function in cellular processes. As a member of the S100-fused protein family, Trichohyalin interacts with keratin intermediate filaments and peripheral cell envelope barrier proteins, facilitating coordination of the cornified cell envelope′s structural integrity. Additionally, Trichohyalin is a substrate for transglutaminase and peptidylarginine deaminase, highlighting involvement in post-translational modifications critical for skin barrier function and overall hair follicle health.
