TRF1 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TRF1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRF1 (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRF1, also known as Telomeric Repeat Binding Factor 1, plays a crucial role in maintaining telomere integrity by negatively regulating telomere elongation, which is vital for cellular aging and stability. TRF1 interacts with telomerase, the enzyme responsible for adding repetitive nucleotide sequences to the ends of chromosomes, thereby influencing cellular immortalization and senescence. Proper functioning of TRF1 is essential, as down-regulation in tumor cells can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and malignancy. Additionally, TRF1 is characterized by an acidic N-terminus, which is important for interaction with other telomere-associated proteins, such as TRF2, which protects chromosome ends from fusion. Understanding TRF1 dynamics and interactions is critical for elucidating the mechanisms of telomere maintenance and implications for cancer biology.
