TRESK Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects TRESK protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRESK (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRESK protein, known as TWIK-related spinal cord K+ channel, plays a crucial role in regulating neuronal excitability and is particularly important in the context of anesthetic action in the central nervous system. Located in the plasma membrane of neurons, TRESK contributes to the resting membrane potential and influences neuronal cell excitability. TRESK activation is mediated by calcium signals from calcineurin, a calcium/calmodulin-dependent phosphatase, and shows notable sensitivity to zinc ions. This zinc sensitivity allows TRESK to integrate various intracellular signals, thereby modulating neuronal responses to external stimuli, including effects of inhaled anesthetics. TRESK′s ability to mediate these effects highlights potential therapeutic applications in conditions involving altered neuronal excitability, such as chronic pain and epilepsy.
