TRAPPC6A Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TRAPPC6A protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TRAPPC6A antibody (G-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRAPPC6A, also known as trafficking protein particle complex 6A, TRS33, or HSPC289, is a 159 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in vesicular transport, particularly during the biogenesis of melanosomes, which are essential for melanin production in melanocytes. TRAPPC6A is localized primarily in the Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum, where TRAPPC6A is involved in the assembly of the multisubunit TRAPP tethering complex, acting as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor that facilitates the docking of transport vesicles to their target membranes. TRAPPC6A forms a heterodimer with TRAPPC3 and is subject to alternative splicing, resulting in two isoforms that may have distinct functional roles. The gene encoding TRAPPC6A is located on human chromosome 19, a region notable for its high gene density and the presence of various immunoglobulin superfamily members, which underscores TRAPPC6A′s importance in cellular transport mechanisms and potential implications in diseases related to melanin production and trafficking.
