TRAP230 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TRAP230 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRAP230 (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRAP230 protein plays a crucial role in regulating transcription within mammalian cells, functioning as part of the thyroid hormone receptor-associated protein (TRAP) complex, which is essential for mediating interaction between transcriptional activators and initiation factors. This complex is vital for hormone-induced transcriptional activation, as TRAP230 interacts with nuclear receptors such as thyroid hormone receptors and vitamin D receptors. The TRAP complex is composed of several proteins, including TRAP95, TRAP100, TRAP150, TRAP220, and TRAP230, all containing a nuclear receptor recognition motif that facilitates ligand-dependent binding to these receptors. TRAP220 and TRAP100 are predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle, heart, and placenta, highlighting their importance in tissue-specific gene regulation. TRAP95, TRAP150, and TRAP230 enhance transcriptional activity by associating with the SMCC (SRB and MED protein cofactor complex), which shares homology with components of yeast transcriptional mediator complexes, underscoring the evolutionary conservation of transcriptional regulation mechanisms.
