    SEE ALSO...

Torsin3A Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Torsin3A of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Torsin3A antibody (D-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Torsin3A (TOR3A), also known as ATP-dependent interferon-responsive protein (ADIR), is a 397 amino acid protein belonging to the clpA/clpB family, which is crucial for proper cellular processes. Torsin3A is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and endoplasmic reticulum, with highest expression levels found in the stomach, lymph nodes, and salivary glands. Torsin3A presence in these tissues suggests a role in cellular stress responses and protein homeostasis, particularly under conditions that may disrupt normal cellular function. Torsin3A features a hydrophobic N-terminal sequence, an ATP binding domain, and eight putative phosphorylation sites, which are essential for activity and regulation. Highly homologous to TorsinA and TorsinB, Torsin3A is involved in the assembly and disassembly of protein complexes, enhancing cellular resilience to stress and facilitating specific proteolytic processes. Torsin3A is classified as an interferon-responsive gene, with expression significantly upregulated in response to type 1 interferons (IFN-α and IFN-β), leading to a 5 to 40-fold increase in mRNA levels. Three isoforms of Torsin3A arise from alternative splicing, with isoform 2 being uniquely expressed in the placenta, highlighting diverse functional roles across different tissues.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398045 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
